Timber Creek is one of the most scenic golf course in the area.

I NSIDE INFO: Out of bounds lurk on both side of #1, a 150-yard hole that demands a smooth, unhurried swing. Hit it short and you're in a sand trap in front of the green.

DID YOU KNOW: The course, part of which butts up against the Manatee County Golf Course, was once an 18-hole layout called Santa Rosa. Over the years Santa Rosa was shorted to its present size and renamed Timber Creek in the late 1970's. The course is owned and operated by the members of its condominium association.

Please bring a dollar for propane, your road kill to grill, a beverage, and an appetizer, side dish OR dessert to share with your neighbors. This is a no-host, no-invitation, everyone welcome good time. If there is a major sports event it will likely be available on the large screen in the CH.Men’s Golf League Play: Please join in the fun of league play starting on Wed, Jan 4 at 8 AM. All TC males are invited; renters and permanent party who have a current TC golf membership (or pay the greens fee). The cost is $2.25 (wow, what a bargain). Please show up at 8 AM so teams can be determined at that time. If you do not have a handicap, the organizers will help you establish one. This is primarily a fun time with individual and team competition and some new rules for 2012. Please call Jim Rozeboom at 792-2240.Garden Committee Meeting: Mon, Jan 9, at 1 PM in the CH. Anyone interested in helping keep our TC gardens beautiful should attend. A green thumb is not necessary, only interest and a pair of old gloves/shoes. Please insure that ALL KEYS required to enter your unit are on file at the association office. This is especially true for new owners so you will not have to be tracked down to keep our Florida critters at bay. Please stop by the Golf Shop and thank Dean for his many years of work for us and wish him well for the future.From Bob Lubbers, VP-Grounds: George and I were busy in Dec doing tree pruning and trimming. Westbay, our grounds contractor, is generally responsible for pruning to a height of six feet according to contract and George Svada and I prune up from there to as high as we can go with our equipment while keeping our feet on the ground. Above that is reserved for Sharon and her tree service. Regardless, we can sometimes go up to fourteen feet without ladders when the branches are not too big.Our tree service will be here early in January and remove a few nuisance trees and prune palms and some overhanging branches. If you have something special that would not ordinarily be obvious to us, please get a work request in as soon as possible. Renee, Adele, Dougie and Connie, and others have taken responsibility for certain areas on the grounds that need special attention and we really appreciate their time and effort. Please remember that the grounds are association property and adding, removing, or changing things should not be done without permission.
